The WHO is celebrating the world’s first-ever Patient Safety Day on 17th September 2019. Patient safety has become a priority with over 134 million adverse events occurring each year in developing and poor countries. These adverse events lead to 2.6 million death yearly. Apart from this, medical negligence and errors cost the patients an additional 15% increase in the cost of healthcare and treatments.
WHO’s World Patient Safety Day is a movement to make healthcare safe for the patients.
