What is your thought about conducting entrance exams during COVID?

The world is in shambles ever since the COVID-19 pandemic struck. While healthcare systems across the globe are crumbling while struggling to contain this virus, the economy of the world is headed for a recession like never before. The Indian government has been extremely vocal about ‘saving citizen’ lives and had imposed the lockdown well in time in March 2020. However, now that the country has found its way of dealing with lockdown with some easing out, the Centre has allows NTA(National Testing Agency) to conduct Joint Entrance Exam(JEE) and Nation Eligibility Cum Entrance Test(NEET) to be conducted in September 2020.

This decision has resulted in an outrage and a Satyagraha-like movement, spearheaded by students and parents alike who believe asking lakhs of students to appear for these exams is risking their lives. Social media portals like Twitter had hashtags like #Satyagraha_againstexamsInCovid and #StudentsKiMannKiBaat trending. Many political leaders have come out in support of students and have requested the government to postpone the exam dates. This decision of conducting exams was argued about in the Supreme Court, which ruled in favour of conducting the exams.

What do you think about the apex court’s decision? Do you support exams during COVID? Comment in the box below!
