Yesterday, we saw the stars descend on to the red carpet! Yes, we are talking about the most-talked-about red carpet event that kick-started the year – the 77th Golden Globe Awards. While we had the usual atmosphere of excitement, enticement, winners and best-dressed individuals, this year’s Golden Globes also featured some new elements. We had a climate change talk, drunk speeches, some surprises, and some obvious winners!
Among the winners was Joaquin Phoenix who won the Best Actor award for his phenomenal, out-of-this-world performance as Joker in the movie with the same name, Reneé Zellweger won the Best Actress in a Motion Picture award for her performance in 1917, which also won the Best Motion Picture award. Russel Crowe, who couldn’t attend the Golden Globes due to his battling of Bushfires in home country Australia, won the Best Acting Award.
Among other categories, Olivia Colman won the award for the Best Actress in a Drama Series for her role in the series. The Crown and Kit Harington won the Best Actor award in the Drama TV series category. Other shows that took home awards included Chernobyl, Marriage Story, and Fleabag.
The movie Once Upon a Time in Hollywood won a couple of awards including Best Picture(Comedy/Musical), Best Screenplay, and Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role in Any Motion Picture (Brad Pitt).
The red carpet was star-studded with some hits and misses when it came to fashion. But, it sure did grab the Twitterati and people social media who enjoyed some funny memes!
