SYMPTOMS OF LONG COVID COMMONER THAN EXPECTED
A study published in JAMA reveals that at least 6.2% of patients experience one of the three symptoms of long COVID. These include fatigue with bodily pain or mood swings, cognitive problems or ongoing respiratory problems after three months of acute infection onset.
The symptoms persist linger for more than 12 months and are commoner in females than in
males. The risk of long COVID symptoms was greatest in those who needed hospitalization and intensive care during their first bout of infection with the virus.
