International Nurses Day: “Our Nurses Our future.”

International Nurses Day is celebrated on May 12th every year. It is a day to honour and recognize the work of nurses around the world. The day was first celebrated in 1965, on the 143rd anniversary of the birth of Florence Nightingale, the founder of modern nursing.

Nurses are the backbone of healthcare delivery without good qualified & well-trained nurses is not possible.

They provide direct care to patients, educate patients and their families, and advocate for patients’ rights. They also work in a variety of other settings, such as schools, clinics, and community health centres.

Nurses are essential to the delivery of quality healthcare. They are compassionate, caring, and dedicated professionals who work tirelessly to improve the health of their patients.

Unfortunately, in India, nursing is looked upon as a job and not a profession. In accordance to the theme of this year, The Checkup hopes that Nurses are given the rightful status as professionals since they play a vital role in healthcare.

Mother Teresa is also celebrated on Nurses Day because she was a nun and a Nobel Peace Prize winner who dedicated her life to helping the poor and sick. She founded the missionaries of

Mother Teresa is a role model for nurses around the world. She showed that nurses can make a difference in the lives of others, even in the most challenging circumstances. Her work is an inspiration to all who are committed to helping others.
